Welcome to ApnaCloset. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using the service.

1. About the Platform

ApnaCloset is a peer-to-peer clothing rental marketplace that connects people who want to rent out their clothes ("Owners") with people who want to rent clothing for events ("Renters"). ApnaCloset acts solely as a technology platform and is not a party to any rental transaction between Owners and Renters.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use ApnaCloset.
  • You must be located in India and provide a valid Indian phone number for verification.
  • By using the platform, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. User Accounts

Access to the platform requires a phone-number-based OTP login. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your OTP or allow others to use your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Listing Rules (Owners)

When listing clothing on ApnaCloset, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date descriptions and photos of the item.
  • Only list items that are clean, in good wearable condition, and legally owned by you.
  • Set fair and transparent rental prices.
  • Honour confirmed rental requests and make the item available as agreed.
  • Not list counterfeit, stolen, or prohibited items (see Section 7).

5. Renter Responsibilities

As a Renter, you agree to:

  • Return the rented item in the same condition it was received, by the agreed return date.
  • Handle all rented clothing with reasonable care.
  • Bear responsibility for any damage, loss, or staining caused during the rental period.
  • Communicate promptly and honestly with the Owner regarding the rental.

6. Payments & Transactions

Payment arrangements are currently made directly between the Renter and Owner outside the platform. ApnaCloset does not process, hold, or guarantee any payments. Any financial dispute is solely between the Renter and Owner, and ApnaCloset bears no liability for payment-related issues.

7. Prohibited Items & Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on ApnaCloset:

  • Listing or renting counterfeit, stolen, or illegally obtained items.
  • Misleading or fraudulent listings, including fake photos or false descriptions.
  • Harassment, abuse, or threatening behaviour toward other users.
  • Using the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempting to circumvent or manipulate platform features.

8. Disclaimer of Liability

ApnaCloset provides the platform "as is" and makes no warranties regarding the quality, safety, or legality of any listing. We are not responsible for disputes, damages, or losses arising from transactions between users. We do not verify the identity of every user or the accuracy of every listing, though we reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or causes harm to other users or the platform — without prior notice. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us.

10. Intellectual Property

All platform content, branding, and design elements are owned by ApnaCloset and may not be reproduced or used without permission. By uploading photos or content to the platform, you grant ApnaCloset a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content for the purpose of operating the platform.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the platform after any changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Surat, Gujarat, India.
